I bought this kit on my son’s fifth birthday before he began Kindergarten. We do not use it every day, and we have still had great success in learning to read! The flash cards, audio CD’s, workbook, reading books and CD ROM are a great combination for the kinesthetic learner. My three year old also enjoys playing with the flash cards while we read, so two children are learning at the same time. A great value and a great product!

Learn to Read Kindergarten Edition has been rated 5 starsMy 3 yo is reading at 1st grade level!

I’m a homeschooling mom of 2 & I have to admit that I have wasted good money on several “affordable” programs that provided disappointing results & a lot more work for me than I had time for (I run a small business & have been a full time student most of my adult life & am a soon to be doctoral candidate). Somehow, I still managed to teach my now 7 yo son to read by age 4-but it was NOT easy.n

I bought the HOP program (pre-k, kindergarten, & first grade) almost 2 years ago when my daughter was less than 2. Right out of the box, I loved the fact that there was no need for tedious pre-prep work for me & no writing to frustrate little hands was needed for her. With the help of the pre-k program, she learned her entire alphabet before she turned 2 & all of the letter sounds by 2 1/2. Shortly after her 3rd birthday, we began the K program & she performed beautifully. She just loved having her own little books that she could read all by herself & looked forward to our 7-15 minute “lessons”. The lessons were SO easy to follow that we didn’t even need the audio cd to guide us after the 3rd lesson! By the time we reached the 5th book, she barely need ME! She has since completed the K program & began the 1st grade program just 2 months shy of her 4th b-day!n

HOP is a straightforward, easy to use, &, most importantly, effective program that has made this busy mom’s life so much simpler! I recommend it hands down above any other program for value & results.

I bought this set for my son, age 5 years old. He has been in normal kindergarten for 2 years now, but yet to learn proper reading skills. I realized that the kindergarten does not really emphasize on reading, but is very heavy on homework (we live in Malaysia). During the long year-end holidays, I was keen to get him started on reading lessons at home. Through Amazon, I noticed this seems like the best bet for my son. I am very happy to report that my son’s reading progress have been nothing short of excellent thus far. This has boost his confidence tremendously.

Learn to Read Kindergarten Edition has been rated 4 starsGet it for your 3- to 4-year-olds so they can grow into it

My 3-1/2 year old already knows her letters and some letter sounds. Based on other reviews, I chose the HOP Kindergarten Edition instead of the Preschool version. I think that was the smart choice–should keep her occupied for some months to come.

I tried Learn to read in 100 easy lessons with my daughter and gave up. There was too much writing on a page and she just couldn’t stay focused. This is well organized. The lessons don’t take long and are organized well. There are a few words on each page of the “workbook” i.e. all the “at” words such as bat, cat, mat, etc. The following page reviews words already learned. I don’t use the audio CD but my daughter enjoys the games for the computer. I wish it had a pencil workbook included.
