Miss Match: A Lauren Holbrook Novel has been rated 4 starsA new kind of chick lit!

Erynn Mangum has created a super fun, super unique chick lit novel. And she’s done it in style! The first in the Lauren Holbrook series is a winner – I look forward to the next!

I enjoyed how this particular chick lit novel reaches a younger age. Erynn has a fresh voice that targets others her age (young twenties) – a refreshing change from the common chick lit characters of 30+.

I’ve recently befriended Erynn through Shoutlife and have thoroughly enjoyed hearing tidbits of her own voice through that of her character, Lauren Holbrook. This is one fun read anyone – matchmaker or not – will love!

Go Erynn! Can’t wait to read more, girl! I think you’ve “met your match” =P

Miss Match: A Lauren Holbrook Novel has been rated 5 starsI HAVEN’T LAUGHED SO MUCH IN YEARS!

Ok, I confess, somebody somewhere messed up – this is NOT just a teen book (though at 37 I’d love it if someone mistook me for a teen.)

THIS IS THE VERY BEST BOOK I’VE READ IN TWENTY YEARS. I have not laughed so hard in years. I got Miss Match on a Friday afternoon and finished Saturday morning (2 am – sans Starbucks;)) I have bought some for my friends and am finagling (sp?) my budget to get about 7 more for Christmas gifts. Moms – this book is for you, too. (Erynn, you seriously need to promote on the MOPS and other sites – or tell your publisher.) Ok, so I confess, I’ve got a BIT in common with Miss Erynn – 1. Starbucks (I’m a member of Starbucks anonymous;)) 2. I share her First Love. (Read the books – you’ll get it.) 3. I LOVE, ADORE, ADMIRE, etc. etc. – her immensely amusing sense of humor!

It’s so bad I’m actually considering re-reading the first two books (which I never do – re-read) while I’m patiently (NOT!) waiting for the third.

Ok, her writings are not QUITE Jane Austin – but, Look out world! Good grief! She’s ONLY 22! (I about fainted when I realized that – sorry Erynn.) If she can write this good now, I will guarantee you, she’ll have a best seller out before too long.

ok, no, I’m not usually this enthusiastic about books (and no, she’s not paying me to say these things – I really think them.)

Erynn, one request – don’t ever stop writing. :)

    VERY Sincerely, Christa

Miss Match: A Lauren Holbrook Novel has been rated 5 starsLol

I lovved this book. I thought it was cute and funny. I had many laugh out loud moments. There were many references to Jane Austen and Emma in this book. They were great. She has a def. movie obsession. To me Lauren’s extreme coffee obsession and chocolate is a little over the top. I do not drink coffee but I do love chocolate and if we eat like Lauren we will all be at least 400 lbs. Even with that this book was great. I ordered the sequel as soon as I finished it. I have read it so review coming soon on that one. I highly recommend this cute chick lit series.

Miss Match: A Lauren Holbrook Novel has been rated 3 starsSugary Sweet

Miss Match is a good choice for a Christian girl in her early twenties. Erynn Mangum shows quite a lot of promise for her later years with this, her debut opus. I enjoyed the plot and characters lead by photographer Lauren Hollbrook, as I might enjoy a Lifetime movie of the week. I did find many of the characters shouting many of their lines (sometimes I physically winced), but perhaps that is youthful, and caffeine-infused, energy (there is a lot of coffee and chocolate here…but, of course, our heroine has no problem metabolising sugar). There is a love for the Lord here, though, and that is appreciated.

Miss Match: A Lauren Holbrook Novel has been rated 5 starsFantastic Debut Read

Lauren Holbrook is a matchmaker at heart despite her own personal desire never to get married which gets her into all sorts of mischief.

Erynn Mangum has crafted a fantastic debut piece of chick lit with Miss March. I laughed so hard at some places that I had to put the book down and take a few minutes to pull myself together before I could start reading again!

The characters are quirky and believeable and Erynn has done a great job of making them unique – not an easy task when there are quite a few of them!

I already have her follow up Re Match but am holding out to start it because I have no doubt that when I do I won’t be able to put it down. that plus the longer I wait to reader it the smaller the gap until the finale – Match Point is released next June.

If you enjoy Christian Chick Lit with real believeable characters then you must buy this book. In fact I believe any fan of chick lit couldn’t help but enjoy it.
