The Green Book was used by people of color who were traveling in the U.S. during the times of segregation to show them where they would be welcome to use a restroom or stay in a hotel. This well-told story of Ruth and her family sheds light on this aspect of history through the eyes of a little girl excited to go on a road trip with her family.
