The two mouse brothers, Pip and Squeak, a musician and a painter, struggle greatly to live in the same home, with paint fumes and loud sounds annoying each other. When the yearly festival comes and they compete with each other with all their might to be the only entertainment, it causes a ridiculous disaster. They find themselves working together to salvage the festival, finding that they actually work quite well together when they try. There are such adorable details in this book, including the illustrations of the things the mice collect from humans to use in their house. And what a great, and cute, parable for modern times!
